International Andromeda Shipping’s Visit to the House of Charity: An Experience of Compassion and Service.

The House of Charity in Versova, Mumbai, was established in 1980. It is run by the Minor Carmelites of Charity (also known as the Carmelite Sisters of Charity), an Italian
congregation, and has been headed by figures including Sister Anna Maria Capiluppi. The home serves children with mental and physical disabilities.

The House of Charity often depends on donations for its daily operations, supporting individuals between 12 and 60 years old. It aims to create a “family” atmosphere, helping residents live with dignity, love, and happiness.
We, as a team from International Andromeda Shipping, had the privilege of visiting the House of Charity. It was inspiring to learn about the dedicated work done by the sisters and laypeople. The sister’s compassionate care for children with special needs is truly commendable. Their efforts provide a nurturing and supportive environment for those who require it most.
The environment was remarkably tidy and well-maintained. Our staff was able to contribute to daily chores, demonstrating our commitment to ensuring all needs are met efficiently. We truly appreciate the warm welcome extended to us.
It was a privilege to experience such profound work firsthand. The dedication and compassion demonstrated were truly inspiring. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to witness such impactful efforts.
