In order to fully meet their social responsibility, enterprises “should have in place a process to integrate social, environmental, ethical and human rights concerns into their business operations and core strategy in close collaboration with their stakeholders”. (E.C.)
In other words CSR is about how companies manage the business processes to produce an overall positive impact on society.
The World Business Council for Sustainable Development defines CSR as the continuing commitment by business to behave ethically and contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life of the workforce and their families as well as of the local community and society at large
Andromeda has always meet the general concept of Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainability by a continuous improvement on every operational procedure and its asset including a constant renewing program on the fleet as well as embedding the CSR principles in its Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental commitments. Although the concept of CSR has become more and more important in recent years, its principles have guided Andromeda relationships with its stakeholders and the environment in which it operates since its foundation in 1992.
The European model of the CSR concept is more focused on operating the core business in a socially responsible way, complemented by investment in communities in which social responsibility becomes an integral part of the wealth creation process.
Focusing on the concept of the wealth creation process, Andromeda has developed its CSR commitment by financially supporting humanitarian projects in specific areas of the world:
OPBG Clinical and Surgical Pediatric Center project in Cambodia.
Since 2009 Andromeda has partially financed Pediatric Hospital Bambino Gesù of Rome projects, committed to improve the medical services and offer high quality pediatric healthcare to the rural population of Takeo province (Cambodia).
Main activities refer to the daily provision of clinical care and surgical treatment, and a set of various projects created to efficiently respond to the people’s needs for healthcare services.
